COVID-19 Erroneous Information

We have received many calls and inquiries today about a COVID-19 outbreak here at the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. 

There has apparently been widespread correspondence over Facebook and other social media outlets saying that we have 16 employees and 42 prisoners with the virus.  This is simply NOT TRUE. 

We did just a little investigation and found that the Putnam County Sheriff's Office that this news is coming from is located is in the STATE OF FLORIDA !!!

There are 9 Putnam Counties in the United States of America.  Putnam County, Georgia was the first one created with the name and we are by far the fairest such environ in the land, but this information comes from our neighbor with the same name to the south.
